Team 406 Summer 2024
406 Lacrosse has been clear in its mission since its inception. We want to GROW the game of lacrosse in Western Montana, we want to PROVIDE competitive playing and training opportunities for all level of lacrosse athletes, and finally, we want to DEVELOP student athletes so they can reach their fullest potential.
One thing we've always enjoyed as players has been options for travel team play. This has been missing from the Montana lacrosse scene, particularly for the NW part of the state. Travel programs give players exposure to styles of play they won't face in the High School or Middle School season. This is valuable experience whether your athlete's goal is to play at the top levels of the NCAA or top ranked programs in the MCLA. This helps athletes to develop their lacrosse IQ and set themselves apart from their peers. Our travel program is designed to develop all aspects of what it takes to play at the next level. We believe the foundation of great lacrosse players start with strict attention to the fundamentals, commitment to being an excellent teammate, and have a passion to learn.
Part of providing playing opportunities for all, is providing the opportunity for dedicated athletes to play in the Summer travel circuit. Team 406 is for elite student athletes who are looking to compete against top tier talent, gain exposure for college recruiting, and develop their knowledge of the game. We play tournaments in Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Oregon which allows us to play elite talent, without mandating a flight across the country.
With coaches who have playing experience from NCAA Division 1 to MCLA, and championships won at all levels of the sport, our coaches have experience with what it takes to win at elite levels. We value our coaches, and we share our values of teamwork, respect, integrity, and are committed to providing a safe, dependable, affordable, relevant, program to help athletes achieve their playing goals.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY?
Our travel teams are catered to all lacrosse players in Montana that are willing to make the team; however we welcome any application from athletes beyond our immediate community whom are willing to make the commitment to attend practices and tournaments. Practices will be held in the Flathead Valley. In addition, all athletes must be enrolled at in person classes at a school. Your GPA can/will be taken into consideration for admittance.
OUT OF STATE PLAYERS
Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation, and some parts of Northern Idaho, the Dakotas, or Wyoming are still looking for options to participate in the summer travel circuit. Eastern Washington players are also incredibly talented and similarly looking for options from time to time. In addition the Flathead Valley attracts families from Seattle, California, or even Texas, during the summer months looking to escape the heat. We want to invite players from outside the area, who may call our valley home during the summer, to feel welcome to join the 406 Lacrosse family. If you're willing to commit to us, we want to commit to you. This is a fantastic opportunity to participate in the summer circuit, play for a competitive program dedicated to its athletes, and expand your social circle to include top athletes in our area.
TRYOUTS AND PRACTICES
Practices and tryouts will be held in the Flathead Valley a. Rosters are capped at 22 players for teams. Tryouts are February 24, 2024. A $45.00 fee will be charged for tryout, fees will be credited toward team dues if the athlete is accepted on a Team 406 Roster Spot.
